My Personal Pantry Food Safety Disclaimer
Version: 1.2
Effective Date: October 5, 2026
Last Updated: October 5, 2026
My Personal Pantry is operated by Bellworth Logistics, LLC (“Bellworth,” “My Personal Pantry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This Food Safety Disclaimer applies to the initial United States-only, 18+ release of My Personal Pantry and should be read together with the My Personal Pantry Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
My Personal Pantry is a household organization and informational application. It can help users organize Pantry inventory, track food and household items, discover recipes, create shopping lists, assist with meal planning, scan product barcodes, and use related organizational features.
My Personal Pantry is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is not an allergen-detection system, food-inspection system, recall-monitoring guarantee, or substitute for product labeling, manufacturer instructions, government food-safety guidance, professional medical advice, or the user's own reasonable judgment.
The app cannot physically inspect food, observe its complete storage or handling history, test it for pathogens or allergens, or guarantee that any food is safe to prepare, serve, or consume.
Nothing in this Disclaimer permits My Personal Pantry, its app-store listing, advertising, marketing, user interface, or other communications to make false, misleading, contradictory, or unsubstantiated food-safety or health claims. A disclaimer cannot make an otherwise misleading safety or health claim acceptable.
Nothing in this Disclaimer waives or limits a consumer right, warranty, remedy, or responsibility of Bellworth Logistics, LLC that applicable law does not permit to be waived or limited.
1. Product Dates, Expiration Tracking, Freshness, and Spoilage
My Personal Pantry may allow users to enter, scan, store, estimate, import, or track dates associated with food products, including expiration, use-by, best-by, sell-by, purchase, opened-on, or similar dates.
These dates are organizational aids. A displayed date is not a determination by My Personal Pantry that a food is safe or unsafe.
Except for infant formula and certain other requirements that may apply under particular laws or product rules, many food date labels in the United States are used primarily to communicate quality rather than an automatic safety cutoff. The meaning of a date can vary by product, manufacturer, and label wording.
A food is not necessarily safe merely because a displayed date has not passed. A food is also not necessarily unsafe merely because a quality-oriented displayed date has passed.
Date information in My Personal Pantry may be:
- entered incorrectly by a user;
- estimated by the app or another source;
- associated with the wrong product or package;
- outdated;
- incomplete;
- based on manufacturer or third-party information that later changes; or
- affected by storage, opening, freezing, thawing, contamination, packaging damage, or other conditions the app cannot observe.
Users should inspect food before use and consider the original packaging, manufacturer instructions, actual storage and handling conditions, applicable government food-safety guidance, and any recall notice.
If food appears spoiled, contaminated, damaged, swollen, leaking, improperly stored, recalled, or otherwise unsafe, users should follow authoritative safety guidance rather than relying on a Pantry date.
My Personal Pantry does not independently determine freshness, microbial safety, contamination status, storage history, or actual suitability for consumption.
2. Food Storage, Handling, Preparation, Cooking, and Reheating
My Personal Pantry may display recipes, cooking instructions, storage information, timers, temperatures, preparation notes, or other food-related information.
That information is provided for general informational and organizational purposes. It does not replace safe food-handling practices, product labeling, manufacturer instructions, or current FDA, USDA, FoodSafety.gov, state/local public-health, or other authoritative safety guidance.
Users should follow appropriate food-safety practices, including as applicable:
- keeping hands, utensils, and food-contact surfaces clean;
- separating raw foods from ready-to-eat foods to reduce cross-contamination;
- refrigerating or freezing perishable foods promptly;
- maintaining safe refrigerator and freezer temperatures;
- using a food thermometer when an internal temperature is important;
- cooking food to the safe minimum internal temperature appropriate for the food;
- safely cooling and storing leftovers; and
- reheating food appropriately.
Cooking time alone is not a reliable safety measurement. Cooking times and temperatures can vary with the appliance, food thickness, portion size, starting temperature, altitude, equipment, recipe, and other conditions.
An in-app timer, displayed temperature, recipe step, or completion indicator does not certify that food has reached a safe internal temperature or is safe to eat.
My Personal Pantry cannot determine whether a refrigerator, freezer, oven, grill, microwave, slow cooker, thermometer, or other appliance is functioning or calibrated correctly.
If official food-safety guidance conflicts with information displayed by My Personal Pantry, users should follow the applicable authoritative safety guidance.
3. Allergies, Intolerances, Sensitivities, and Dietary Restrictions
My Personal Pantry may display or organize ingredient, allergen, dietary, substitution, recipe, or product information using user-entered data, product labels, barcode results, recipe sources, databases, or ordinary software processing.
This information can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, mismatched, or interpreted incorrectly.
My Personal Pantry is not an allergen-detection or medical safety system.
United States law currently identifies nine major food allergens for applicable packaged-food labeling: milk, egg, fish, Crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame. However:
- foods outside those nine categories can still cause allergic reactions or other adverse reactions;
- labeling requirements vary by the type of food and regulator;
- packaging and formulations can change;
- a saved or third-party ingredient list may be older than the product currently in hand;
- cross-contact can occur; and
- the app cannot test a food for an allergen or determine whether cross-contact occurred.
Users with food allergies, intolerances, sensitivities, celiac disease, metabolic disorders, or other medical dietary requirements should review the current physical product label, ingredient list, allergen statement, manufacturer information, and other reliable information before preparing or consuming food.
Do not rely solely on a Pantry entry, barcode result, recipe card, substitution suggestion, dietary filter, or app-generated classification to determine whether a food is safe for a person with an allergy or medical dietary restriction.
If product labeling is missing, ambiguous, inconsistent, or raises a safety concern, users should contact the manufacturer or another appropriate authoritative source rather than assume the product is safe.
A person experiencing or suspected of experiencing a serious allergic reaction should seek appropriate emergency medical care. My Personal Pantry is not an emergency service.
4. Recipes, Ingredient Matching, Guided Instructions, and Substitutions
My Personal Pantry may display recipes, compare recipe ingredients with Pantry inventory, identify possible ingredient matches, suggest substitutions, and organize recipe information into guided steps.
Recipe and matching information may come from user entries, product data, third-party recipe sources, or ordinary software processing.
The initial public release uses no production AI processing. Dormant AI engineering may exist in development repositories, but AI is disabled and inaccessible in the initial public release. Any future AI activation requires a separate product, safety, privacy, provider, data-flow, platform-policy, and legal review before release.
Recipe information, ingredient matches, and substitutions may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or interpreted incorrectly. For example:
- a Pantry product may not be equivalent to the ingredient required by a recipe;
- a packaged product may contain an ingredient without being usable as that ingredient in the recipe;
- an amount may be insufficient;
- a substitution may alter cooking behavior;
- a substitution may change taste, texture, nutrition, or allergen exposure; and
- a reformulated product may differ from previously stored information.
Users should review the original recipe or other authoritative source when appropriate, confirm ingredient identity and quantity, verify substitutions before use, and independently assess safety-sensitive information.
My Personal Pantry does not guarantee that a recipe will produce a particular result or that an ingredient match or substitution is safe or appropriate for every user.
5. Barcode Scanning, Product Recognition, and Product Information
My Personal Pantry may use barcode scanning, product databases, user-entered information, and third-party data to identify products or populate Pantry information.
Barcode image recognition is intended to occur on-device. After a barcode is decoded, the barcode value or product identifier may be sent to a product-information service when needed to identify the product.
A successful barcode scan means only that a barcode was decoded. It does not guarantee that the product information returned for that barcode is complete, current, or correct.
Product information may be inaccurate because of product reformulation, packaging changes, reused or mismatched data, regional differences, third-party errors, user edits, or database delays.
When identity, ingredients, allergens, preparation instructions, storage directions, nutrition, recalls, or another safety-sensitive detail matters, users should verify the current product in hand using its packaging, manufacturer information, and other authoritative sources.
My Personal Pantry should not silently treat a barcode result as authoritative when the user corrects or rejects the result.
6. Nutrition, Dietary, and Health-Related Information
My Personal Pantry may display nutritional information, serving sizes, calorie estimates, ingredient information, dietary classifications, or similar information.
That information may come from product labels, recipe sources, third-party databases, calculations, or user-entered information and may be incomplete, estimated, outdated, or inaccurate.
Actual nutritional values can vary because of brand, serving size, formulation, substitutions, preparation method, recipe yield, measurement error, or other factors.
My Personal Pantry does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, cure, or disease prevention. It is not a medical device.
Users should not use My Personal Pantry as the sole basis for medical, diagnostic, treatment, or medically necessary dietary decisions.
Individuals with medical conditions, prescribed diets, pregnancy-related dietary concerns, food allergies, metabolic disorders, or other health concerns should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional when medical advice is needed.
If any future feature makes an objective health or safety claim, that claim must be independently reviewed and supported to the level required by applicable law before the feature or claim is released. This Disclaimer does not cure an unsupported or misleading health claim.
7. Recalls, Outbreaks, Contamination, and Safety Alerts
My Personal Pantry does not guarantee real-time, complete, or exhaustive monitoring of food recalls, outbreak notices, undeclared-allergen notices, contamination events, manufacturer warnings, or other safety alerts.
A Pantry item that appears normal in the app may still be recalled or subject to a safety alert.
If My Personal Pantry displays recall or safety information, the information may depend on external data, product identifiers, distribution information, lot numbers, dates, or other details and may not identify every affected product.
Users should rely on applicable authoritative recall and outbreak information, including official FDA, USDA/FSIS, FoodSafety.gov, manufacturer, retailer, and state or local public-health notices when recall status or an outbreak matters.
If a product is subject to an official recall or safety warning, users should follow the instructions in the applicable notice. My Personal Pantry should not instruct a user to disregard an authoritative recall or safety warning.
If a user believes a food caused illness or a serious allergic reaction, the user should seek appropriate medical care and use the applicable government or manufacturer reporting channels when appropriate.
8. Third-Party Recipes, Product Data, and External Services
My Personal Pantry may display, retrieve, organize, or link to recipes, product information, barcode data, nutrition information, manufacturer information, or other content from third parties.
Current or planned-for-release sources and service providers may include, as applicable, Spoonacular, Open Food Facts, Google technologies used for barcode recognition, and other providers identified in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unavailable, or inconsistent with current product packaging or official guidance.
Bellworth Logistics, LLC does not control third-party content merely because the Service displays, organizes, or links to it.
Third-party services may change or discontinue functionality, restrict access, alter data, or modify their terms without notice to My Personal Pantry.
Users should review the original source and, for safety-sensitive matters, current packaging, manufacturer information, or authoritative government guidance.
A link, integration, citation, or reference does not by itself mean that Bellworth Logistics, LLC endorses, certifies, guarantees, or adopts a third party's safety claims.
9. Service Availability, Data Accuracy, and Pantry Synchronization
My Personal Pantry supports account-based synchronization for supported Pantry records.
Pantry data associated with the authenticated account is authoritative for supported synchronized Pantry records.
Meal Plan data, Grocery List data, imported recipe references, recipe history, certain dietary preferences, appearance/theme preferences, and other installation-local information may remain on the device unless or until ownership can safely be associated with the authenticated account.
My Personal Pantry does not invent account ownership for installation-local data.
Synchronization may be delayed, interrupted, duplicated, incorrectly merged, outdated, or unavailable because of connectivity, device, server, software, conflict-resolution, third-party, or other technical problems.
No silent Pantry mutations should be used to conceal or bypass user-facing Pantry changes.
Users should review important safety-sensitive Pantry information and correct inaccuracies when necessary.
My Personal Pantry should not be the sole record for information where loss, delay, inaccuracy, or synchronization failure could create a significant health, safety, financial, or other consequence.
10. User Judgment, Authoritative Sources, and Scope of the Service
My Personal Pantry is intended to assist with household organization, Pantry management, recipe discovery, shopping, and meal planning.
Users should use reasonable judgment and independently verify information when food safety, allergens, medical dietary needs, product identity, recalls, storage, preparation, cooking temperatures, or other significant concerns are involved.
Depending on the issue, authoritative sources may include:
- current product packaging and labeling;
- the manufacturer or distributor;
- FDA;
- USDA / Food Safety and Inspection Service;
- FoodSafety.gov;
- state or local public-health agencies;
- an appropriately qualified healthcare professional; and
- an official product recall or safety notice.
The app does not replace professional medical advice or emergency services.
This Disclaimer is part of a safety system that must also include accurate product design, responsible feature behavior, appropriate warnings at safety-sensitive points, accurate app-store and marketing statements, and correction of known material errors. It is not intended to shift every possible consequence to the user regardless of Bellworth Logistics, LLC's own legal responsibilities.
11. Limitation of Liability and Nonwaivable Consumer Rights
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BELWORTH LOGISTICS, LLC DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, SAFETY, AVAILABILITY, OR SUITABILITY OF USER-ENTERED INFORMATION, THIRD-PARTY FOOD DATA, BARCODE RESULTS, RECIPE INFORMATION, INGREDIENT MATCHING, SUBSTITUTIONS, NUTRITION INFORMATION, PRODUCT DATES, RECALL INFORMATION, OR SYNCHRONIZED PANTRY INFORMATION.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bellworth Logistics, LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages resulting from reliance on inaccurate or incomplete information, third-party content, synchronization failures, or use of the Service.
However, nothing in this Food Safety Disclaimer excludes, waives, releases, or limits liability, warranties, statutory protections, or consumer remedies where applicable law does not permit that result.
In particular, this Disclaimer is not intended to exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence or greater-than-ordinary negligence where such liability cannot lawfully be limited, death or personal injury where applicable law prohibits limitation, or any other nonwaivable legal responsibility.
For New Jersey consumers, nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to waive any clearly established consumer right or Bellworth Logistics, LLC responsibility under New Jersey or federal law.
The Terms of Service contain the broader limitation-of-liability provisions governing use of the Service. This Disclaimer must be interpreted consistently with those Terms and may not create a broader waiver than the Terms lawfully provide.
12. User Acknowledgment and Legal Acceptance
The My Personal Pantry Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Food Safety Disclaimer are separate legal documents.
Users may be required to affirmatively complete the applicable legal-acceptance flow before using account-connected functionality.
The legal-acceptance structure distinguishes contractual agreement from acknowledgment of disclosures and may state:
“I agree to the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy and My Personal Pantry Food Safety Disclaimer.”
The acknowledgment means the user has been presented with the Food Safety Disclaimer and acknowledges its food-safety limitations and warnings. It does not create a waiver of rights or liabilities that applicable law does not permit to be waived.
Acceptance or acknowledgment records may be associated with the authenticated account and document version.
Continued use of My Personal Pantry by itself is not the sole method of accepting or acknowledging a materially changed legal document.
During a required legal-reacceptance lock, the main app may remain unavailable until the applicable legal step is completed, while a restricted Account & Privacy surface may remain available for:
- legal acceptance;
- Download My Data;
- Delete account;
- Contact privacy support; and
- Sign out.
13. Changes to This Food Safety Disclaimer
My Personal Pantry may update this Food Safety Disclaimer when app features, food-related functionality, third-party data sources, safety guidance, legal requirements, or product behavior change.
When the Disclaimer changes, the Last Updated date and document version must be updated.
For a material change, or where otherwise required, users may be required to affirmatively acknowledge the updated Disclaimer before account-connected functionality continues.
We do not rely solely on continued use of the Service as acknowledgment of a materially changed Disclaimer.
During a required reacknowledgment lock, the restricted Account & Privacy surface described in Section 12 may remain available.
Each published legal version should be retained or otherwise identifiable through a stable public reference, immutable copy, content hash, or equivalent version record sufficient to determine which version applied to a particular release or acknowledgment event.
A change to the Disclaimer does not authorize My Personal Pantry to make a safety or health claim that is false, misleading, contradictory, or unsupported.
14. Relationship to Other Legal Documents
This Food Safety Disclaimer should be read together with:
- the My Personal Pantry Terms of Service; and
- the My Personal Pantry Privacy Policy.
The Terms of Service govern contractual use of the Service and the legal relationship between users and Bellworth Logistics, LLC.
The Privacy Policy describes information collection, processing, storage, disclosure, retention, export, deletion, and privacy rights.
The current Privacy Policy is My Personal Pantry Privacy Policy v1.3.
This Food Safety Disclaimer focuses on food dates, food handling, allergens, dietary restrictions, recipes, substitutions, nutrition, product information, recalls, safety information, and the limits of what the app can determine.
The three documents are separately versioned and must remain factually consistent with one another and with the production application.
